Introduction
Hey guys, my name is Neve, and I’m based in North Yorkshire, UK, which is surrounded by beautiful fields and farms!
I grew up in London and moved away from the hustle and bustle of the city when I fell pregnant with my now 2-year-old little boy. In my spare time, when I’m not doing assignments for my Cyber Security and Cloud Engineering Degree, I love to play video games and go to Kickboxing and MMA training! I love going on little country road trips with my family and puppy, and I plan on climbing the 3 peaks in the UK this Summer with my friend!
Tell us about your journey to DoiT.I started DoiT, joining a team that didn’t exist. I joined with 1 other team member, and essentially, we were there to make sense of the process and build it into something scalable and seamless. Being a puzzle solver was great for me as it allowed my brain to fully dive in and have the satisfaction of seeing the physical process we built being put in place. I was the only team member in EMEA which is our busiest area for onboardings, bringing in 3x more customers than our NA counterparts. Yes, I was very busy, and yes, my calendar was referred to as the perfect game of Tetris. But this is the type of environment my neurodivergent brain thrives in! From there, I successfully built cross-departmental processes and introduced dedicated training for Sales in AWS Onboarding, allowing them to fully understand the why’s and the how’s of what we do when they bring customers in, just to name a few of the amazing projects I’ve been able to lead. Aligning with my studies in Cyber Security and Cloud Engineering, I’ve also had the opportunity to be mentored by some of the most intelligent and creative minds I’ve ever met. Through working with the CRE team, I’m also developing my knowledge and skills both professionally and personally. The ability to learn and develop myself gave me the opportunity to create the need for a new role and move into it!
What does a day in your life look like?
Busy, very busy. My typical day is filled with mostly back-to-back customer calls and internal meetings. My interactions with customers are one of the first relationships they get to create with DoiT other than a Sales team member, either understanding what their current environment looks like and creating an onboarding plan for them or taking them through the entire process. Being hands-on with these conversations has really allowed me to develop the customer’s first experience with DoiT into something built with trust and transparency. When I’m not on calls, I’m brainstorming new ideas to enhance our team and carrying out the day-to-day tasks of onboarding customers in the backend. I am also shadowing CRE conversations and having a couple of hours a week learning everything I can from them!
What impact does a Sr. Client Services Operations Specialist have at DoiT?
The impact of a Sr. Client Services Operations Specialist is internal within the Client Services Operations Specialist team, cross-functionally within DoiT, and external to our customers. From mapping out operational excellence and customer support to contributing to company success, this role has the ability to impact multiple people. When working within a small remote team it can sometimes feel isolating, especially when everyone is in a different timezone. The senior role allows us to have that one focal point between the regions, making sure everyone is communicated effectively and ultimately given the tools and processes our team needs to aid them with day-to-day and remote working hurdles. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for all things Onboarding and Client Services Operations, there are a lot of teams and processes to understand. This role provides other Doers the confidence in getting the right answers and knowing that changes will be made if there are any issues. Being involved in every aspect of Client Services Operations means I can fully understand our company's needs and continuously evolve our processes. The role also provides a mentor for the rest of the team, being able to share knowledge and experiences while creating a safe and uplifting work environment that is particularly impactful on our CSOS team.
Tell us about a time you truly felt supported by your team.At the end of last year, I went through a personal medical issue that required me to have some time off to allow me to recover and grieve. The amount of sheer kindness and support I received from DoiT was unbelievable. The love I received wasn’t just from direct members of my team but also from Doers around the company and globe whom I work closely with. My manager, in particular, showed nothing but compassion and patience, allowing me to have the time I needed. My team, without hesitation, worked amongst themselves to pick up the work I left behind and, without question, supported me. I had some very personal moments with some team members, which only strengthened our bond even more. This really honed down to one of our core values of #act-as-one-team. It was then that I realized just because you work remotely doesn’t mean you can’t develop meaningful relationships with your colleagues.
How have you grown in your role here at DoiT?
I am still 5’4, so unfortunately, I haven’t physically grown; however, through the knowledge and experience of my mentors and friends, I have grown exponentially mentally, professionally, and personally. At DoiT, I haven’t just grown within my role, but I have also grown an amazing network of people I am privileged to call friends. The opportunities DoiT creates are incredible. Our values of #persue-knowledge, #see-it-through, and be-entrepreneurial are the perfect foundation on which to build a career.
