Why I Came to DoiT and Why I Stay

Introduction

Hello everyone, I’m Mathieu, a Sr. BDR from Grenoble, France. I grew up on skis, riding away in the Alps with my family, and still love to go every winter!

I’m big on traveling, which is made doable thanks to DoiT’s remote work policy. I have a special love for Asia, Hong Kong in particular. I recently moved in September to Manchester, UK to pursue a master’s degree part-time.

Tell us about your journey to DoiT.I started working at Doit in January 2022 as a Business Development Representative on the French market. Within six months, I was promoted to senior and took on more responsibility. DoiT has been a wild ride. There have been lots of learning opportunities, both technical and sales-related. We have been able to open completely new markets, like South Africa and the Middle East. We have had great collaboration with the team and are still going strong today.

What does a day in your life look like?

As a BDR, the days are quite similar. I like to start my day by responding and sending out emails. A lot of personalization and research goes into this stage. I will then start my morning cold calling. After this, it’s time for a lunch and gym break. This is a good way to recharge before the afternoon. Getting back, I have another email answering session. I then prospect for new potential clients. Once I have found some good matches, I return to a last cold calling session to finish the day. There are meetings sprinkled throughout the day, which gives me the chance to relax and chat with the team.

What is the culture like of the Business Development team like?

The culture is great. There is no toxicity, just friendly competition, good vibes, and team spirit. I was really surprised at how willing the BDRs are to share insights that make them successful. We have a great culture of sharing and mutual encouragement. We celebrate our wins together.

What advice would you give candidates interested in joining DoiT?

I can only speak for the BDR role. But if you enjoy the role and want to exponentially grow your career, DoiT is definitely the place for you! The BDR role can be a really rough one. However, DoiT has a great product market fit that makes selling quite simple. In addition to that, the culture is amazing, the leadership is great, and they are not scared to throw SPIFFs your way any chance they get. It is quite rare that someone fails to hit their quota. I strongly recommend.
