My name is Magdalena Trzeciak, and I am a Senior Software Engineer originally from Poland. I have a passion for combining data science with engineering. When I'm not working, you can typically find me exploring a new country—I’ve visited nearly 90 so far and am always planning my next adventure! DoiT’s remote work policy gives me the flexibility to travel.
Tell us about what led you to join DoiT!
The main reason I joined DoiT was that the company offered a remote position, which matched my lifestyle perfectly as a digital nomad. DoiT's focus on cloud cost optimization and multi-cloud solutions initially caught my interest; I saw it as an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a space I was passionate about. Plus, the people I met during the interview process were incredibly welcoming and inspiring, and the team would be both dynamic and fun to work with. Five years in, I can confidently say that was spot-on! Working in an international environment with talented colleagues worldwide has been incredibly rewarding, and the flexibility DoiT provides has been invaluable in maintaining a balance between work and travel.
What personal goals have you been able to accomplish since joining DoiT?
Since joining DoiT, I've achieved several key personal and professional goals that have shaped my career. I was promoted to Senior Software Engineer and later took on a Tech Lead role, where I’ve had the chance to lead impactful projects and collaborate closely with other engineers to deliver valuable features. This position is particularly fulfilling because it allows me to balance hands-on technical work with leadership, working directly with product teams to make a tangible impact on our projects. Being both people-oriented and tech-driven, I find this role to be a perfect fit. Additionally, I’ve been able to further my skills by earning certifications as a Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer and Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer, which has deepened my knowledge and broadened my expertise in areas I’m passionate about.
How does your work as a Software Engineer impact DoiT customers?
As a Software Engineer at DoiT, my work directly impacts our customers by ensuring that the features we build genuinely meet their needs and enhance their cloud experience. We actively plan and prioritize new features based on customer feedback and their evolving requirements. I often have the chance to meet with customers, helping them understand the capabilities of our platform and demonstrating how they can leverage new features to benefit their business. Customer feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and we prioritize incorporating it into our work so that our solutions continue to be relevant and impactful. Additionally, we support them by troubleshooting issues they raise through our support system, ensuring they feel supported at every step.
What impact do Software Engineers have at DoiT?
Software Engineers at DoiT have a significant impact by developing features that drive customer success, help clients save costs, and improve overall cloud efficiency. It’s incredibly rewarding to hear that a feature we contributed to was the reason a customer chose to work with us. Beyond our work with customers, we also collaborate closely with colleagues across different departments to make their work easier. By automating repetitive tasks and streamlining processes, we help improve efficiency across the board, making everyone's day-to-day work smoother and more productive.
Tell us about a time you truly felt supported by your team.A great example of feeling supported was when I was preparing for a certification exam, and my team encouraged me to take a couple of days to focus on studying—it really helped. Another time, my flight was delayed, and they moved a meeting so I could still join. As a digital nomad, gestures like this mean a lot and show me my team cares about my work and lifestyle.
There have also been stressful moments when things didn’t go as planned. Instead of blaming me, my team jumped in to help fix the problem, turning a challenging situation into a learning experience. It’s that kind of support that makes working with my team so rewarding.
How have you grown in your career here at DoiT?
Since joining DoiT, I’ve grown a lot in my career. I’ve been promoted several times, which has given me more responsibility and new challenges. My cloud knowledge has expanded significantly—I’ve learned much about cloud services and technologies. Working on diverse projects and with talented colleagues has really helped me build my skills and become more confident in my role. Overall, DoiT has provided great opportunities for me to learn, grow, and take on more leadership.
