Hello, everyone!
I’m Fabian Lober, and I work out of the beautiful city of Konstanz, Germany, though I originally grew up in the bustling metropolis of Frankfurt/Main. When I’m not deep into cloud architecture, you’ll find me diving into my passions—whether it’s staying active through sports, crafting, or enjoying quality time with my wife and dog. And yes, I’m also a bit of a cocktail and cooking enthusiast—because who doesn’t need a little fun in life?
Tell us about what led you to join DoiT!
What drew me to DoiT was the unique and customer-focused business model. We don’t get bogged down in negotiating efforts, days, or prices here. Instead, we focus on solving real problems and setting our customers up for long-term success. During the interview process, I was consistently impressed by the caliber of people I met—from the Talent Acquisition team to my future peers and senior management. Clearly, DoiT was a place where people truly collaborate and care about delivering excellence.
How does your work as a Staff Cloud Architect impact DoiT customers?
As a Staff Cloud Architect, my most significant impact is through my team. By empowering and guiding them, I ensure that we’re not just meeting but exceeding our customers’ expectations. While my primary focus is leadership, I still dive into technical challenges, whether assisting with pre-sales, complex migrations, AWS MAP (Migration Acceleration Program) questions, or strategic internal projects. Every contribution, big or small, is geared towards making our customers successful.
Tell us about a time you truly felt proud of the work you do.It isn't easy to pinpoint just one moment because I feel proud of my work every day, especially when I witness my team delivering exceptional results or coming up with innovative ideas to improve. It's incredibly rewarding to see their growth and creativity in action. Personally, one of my most significant achievements was publishing our comprehensive MAP Guide. After weeks of hard work, it was incredibly satisfying to see it come to life, complete with detailed modules, processes, templates, and enablement resources. Knowing that it would serve as a valuable tool for DoiT and our clients made the effort worthwhile.
Where can we find you outside of work?
You might find me in one of two places: either outside in the mountains, where I love to hike, climb, and soak in the serenity of nature, or in my garage, where I’m building furniture or working on my car. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about creating something tangible—something you can touch, feel, and take pride in—that complements the virtual world of cloud architecture.
What advice would you give candidates interested in joining DoiT?
Be prepared to collaborate with some of the most talented and innovative people in the industry. Everyone here brings unique skills and perspectives so that you will bring yours! Stay open to learning from others, and don’t hesitate to share your knowledge with them. Embrace an entrepreneurial spirit and always be ready to challenge the status quo—at DoiT, that’s how we keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
